He has got to be the best Dimitri casting choice I've seen in a while. In my opinion, he's way better than the popular Ben Barnes choice. Andrei Andrei has what I believe is Dimitri's "God-like" character.

Other Things You Should Know: Shippy rambling, block quotes from the book, not always coherent, bandwagon jumping, scene analysis, pretentiousness (YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED), major spoilers for Bloodlines (though not the main plot) & vague spoilers for the original series--from #4 Blood Promise onwards.

I've always enjoyed the action/adventure elements of each book, as much as or more so than the drama. In Bloodlines, the first book in the companion/sequel series to the original Vampire Academy series, I thought the crime elements weren't as well executed, but the relationship between two characters, Adrian Ivashkov and Sydney Sage , made it all up for me. That's the calmer way of saying I SHIP THEM REALLY HARD, by the way. So hard that I made a top ten list of my favourite Adrian-Sydney moments in the book. Yes, I'm a sad obsessed shipper who doesn't actually have too much time on her hands but still did this.

1. Okay, first off, I'm surprised no one has posted this news: Richelle has just released the publisher's description for The Golden Lily (Bloodlines #2) on her blog. Personally, it's left me super-excited and longing for June #19 because my series will be back!

2. *Waves*. Hello everyone. I'm new to the fandom, though not the books, and I bring some (deep, thinky -- okay, not really) thoughts on Adrian Ivashkov. Yes, I know, most people bring the fic, but mine are sadly in the writer's blocked phase, and besides this bit of meta was basically spawned by a fic idea. Note: herein lie vague spoilers for all the V/A books, and some pretty heavy spoilers about Adrian's arc in Spirit Bound, Last Sacrifice & Bloodlines.
